What do you get you bring together three incredibly talented musicians with relentless drive, passion and professionalism that is matched by exceptional melodies and rhythms delivered in an awe-inspiring live performance?

The answer is Opus Rex; and band that knows a thing or two about putting together and performing a song. Opus Rex is quickly gaining a solid reputation among fans and in the industry in the relatively short time they have been together.

Based in London Ontario, the band is primarily influenced by the progressive rock and metal genres.  The members came together with a desire to find like-minded musicians who had the “chops” to bring creative ideas to life. The driving melodies combined with intelligent, socially relevant or topical lyrics have recently been described as “thought rock”.

Opus Rex consists of Graehme Floyd on guitars, Tyse Burrows on keyboards, Tony Nouragas on Bass and Lead Vocals, and Karl Sloman on drums and percussion.

All band members are music instructors and run independent music studios. Karl and Graehme run a music program for students with cerebral palsy and other physical disabilities. Their passion for bringing music instruction to the disabled community was featured in a network television documentary in October 2013 in which they were formally honoured by Canadian icons RUSH.  Drummer Karl Sloman is also a published author. Alfred Music published “The Coordination Code” in 2012.

Heads started turning when Opus Rex hit the London live mics in early 2014. The band was quickly invited to open for long-time favourite London band Bobnoxious.

Opus Rex is a band made up of 3 musicians Graehme Floyd (Guitar) Tyse Burrows (Keyboards) and Karl Sloman (drums and percussion) who came together after leaving previous projects. The band performs hard rock/heavy metal in the London, Ontario Region. Karl is a published author “The Coordination Code” which was published by Alfred Music in 2012. Karl and Graehme also operate a music program for students with Cerebral Palsy and were honoured by the band Rush for their work with disabled musicians.

Opus Rex has exploded onto the London music scene opening for the popular London band Bobnoxious. They have developed a fan base in that area and continue to amaze audiences with their technical and musical abilities. The band has sent you this press kit because we would like to expand their fan base while assisting your establishment in fostering new customers.

The band is presently shooting a video and putting together the material for their fist CD. They continue to expand their fan bas via social media and performances including Indiefest and Powerfest.
