Our Band has absolute passion and obsession for Music. There is nothing in this world that we would rather be doing than jamming, playing live, or recording music. Let’s us bring our loud energetic sound to your event. We will shake the walls, make your heart dance and leave everyone singing along!  Our music tells a story of life. Its personal. Its consoling. Its liberating. Its all around good for the soul. Its passionate. Its honest. its real and its good. Its the way Rock n Roll was always meant to be.

This great band was a long time coming.

Joseph Bonasia has been banging out song ideas for decades now and has been working on Astoria independently for a few years. Going through songs from the past and writing new ones recently to give new blood to the band, a great collection of material was chosen to move forward to start rehearsals.

Jay Bartlett has always been the perfect drumming counterpart. His instinctive drumming and powerful hitting has always been the percussive background of the sound of Astoria. Its a kindred spirit sort of thing.

Joe and Jay set forth to find other musical brothers to help bring this rock music project to fruition.The two have come across many talented musicians but not until recently has the perfect blend of musicians come together with similar vision and passion to give this great band life. Glenn Stanway provides some melodic but dirty bass for these infectious, hooky songs. Ryan Ewer and Josh Pepper intertwine their rhythm and lead guitars along so beautifully with Joe’s melodic accents, bringing Astoria’s songs and sound to another level.

The sound of Astoria is based on energetic guitar, thunderous drums and dirty bass, coupled with melodic vocals which go from sweet to sinful in seconds.

The songs make you wanna jump around and sing along, get up and dance, and generally make you celebrate a good time. Themes in the songs range from love, confusion and helplessness all the way to riding bikes, sexual fantasies and OH YEAH LETS DO THIS! There is something for everybody in the music of Astoria.

Astoria’s notorious ONE TAKE live EP ( http://astoriarocknroll.bandcamp.com/album/one-take ) is RAW, EXCITING and full of all the chaos you can expect at a Live Show. To help take the live/chaotic element of the bands energetic sound to a new level, Astoria is set to record their debut EP at Jukasa Studios with Industry Leading Recording Engineer and Producer Darren Magierowski. Astoria is revved up to record where some of Canada’s premier Rock acts have gone to lay down their craft, Monster Truck, Alexisonfire and Cancer Bats are just a few names who have stepped foot into Jukasa and worked with Darren.
