Ladies and gentlemen, bustin’ from the belly of our beautiful city, hails the super-fly phenomenon to do the deeds to your eardrums that your daddy does not deem descent.
The three members of Samurai Night Fever have been on the London music scene for nearly forty years combined.
Ryan Kriz first hit the skins on stage at the age of 14 with his long running band, Nemesis, who opened for acts such as Finger Eleven. He has been a member of Jade’s Ground, Fever, Zealot’s Desire and Black Belt Jones. Ryan has been the go to guy in a pinch for groups like Last Call and for artists like Scott Szeryk. Currently, on top of being the timekeeper for Samurai Night Fever, Ryan plays with Dig Devil Dig and Metro 4 (who have shared the stage with Stone Temple Pilots, Our Lady Peace, See Spot Run, the Trews, Sloan, 54/40, and Sass Jordan).
Justin Whittingham hit the scene playing bass with Pasquale’s Kitchen and Moonyard. He was then a founding member of London mainstay The McFly’s. Taking up the guitar as his mantle, Justin formed The Fairmonts with Scotty while continuing to get down on four strings for the Tribianis.
Dan Slinger began playing with funk/jam band The Travelling Salvation Show in the late 90s. In 2000, he could be seen circulating through small intimate venues with his solo shows. While working as a studio bass player, he was also a member of the jam band Captain Mojo, the celtic rock outfit Caution Donkeys, Snozberry Jam, The Banana Hammocks (with Canadian fingerstyle guitar champion, Robert Taylor) and was a founding member of party machine Black Belt Jones. As well as bringing both the noise and the funk (often simultaneously) with Samurai Night Fever, Dan plays bass with guitar rock outfit Brian Bailey and the Method.
In the summer of 2008 Fate took these three and mashed their talents, juju, mojo, and stunning good looks together like oranges, pineapple, sour cream and marshmallows, to make a funky-fresh ambrosia salad of good vibes, smooth harmonies, and mad jams. The result is Samurai Night Fever who dare you to sit still when they take the stage.
Samurai Night Fever is layin’ down just what you need to pick it up. Your dancing shoes will tremble knowing that they are about to get up, down, sideways, in, on, and back…shakin’ it all about. Samurai Night Fever delivers musical diversity, a debonaire demeanour, and both dangerous and deliciously dulcet jams for you to digest and dig on.
